Carob is an excellent alternative to chocolate for humans, especially if your body has digestive or dietary issues, such as gluten-intolerance. You can use the powder and chips the same way as you would chocolate in almost all recipes. And you can enjoy your favorite sweet treats with fewer calories, fat, and sugar.

The amazing thing about carob is that it doesn’t contain any theobromine - the substance known to be poison to dogs. On top of that, it’s also free of caffeine, fromamide, or phenylthlamine, other dangerous substances found in chocolate. Carob is extracted from the carob bean that grows on the carob tree, a type of flowering shrub which belongs to the same family as peas (Fabaceae). Like cocoa beans, carob beans can be ground into a powder that can be used as-is or made into carob chips.

Boasting a naturally sweet flavor, similar to chocolate, carob also contains a variety of healthy nutrients such as vitamins A, B, and D as well as calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, and protein. If that’s not enough to get you to try this delish treat, carob is a good source of fiber and pectin (a substance that helps to flush toxins from the body).

A puppy's digestive system is still developing until about 10 months. We have a few treats we might recommend in SMALL doses to avoid upsetting their delicate puppy bellies. Otherwise, after 10 months......you, as a puppy parent, should have a good understanding of what their bellies can handle - and what they love to eat!

All of our treats are made with all-natural HUMAN grade ingredients. We do not use butter, salt or processed sugars. We will sweeten with honey, unsweetened apple sauce and molassas.

So in case you're tempted......tasting a bit, will definately not hurt you....but our treats might taste very bland and the cakes a little dense and dry. To dogs......well, happy dogs have kept us in business for 30 years......so.....
